How Close are you to a Stroke?

If you’re living near a fast-food area, then you’re at risk to have a stroke. At least this is the conclusion of a study presented at a conference in San Diego, this week.  One fast-food equals 1% risk of stroke. So, count the fast-foods in your neighborhood and do the math. How close are you to a stroke?

What NOT to do When You're Too Fat

Have you ever thought about who invented diets?And why? Well, obviously, because he/she wanted to lose weight, but, more exactly, why? It seems that William the Conqueror started the first fad diet because he gained too much weight and that stopped him from riding his horse.  There’s no happy ending to this story because William the “Stubborn” decided to ride his horse in spite of the warnings and died.  So, what does this teach us?

Pizza – How Much is too Much?

Most of the times, eating pizza is a “sin” and the next day I’ll probably wash it off with salad and no dessert.  Surprisingly, I read an interesting article and I got it! It’s not about what you eat but about how much you eat. The thing is: if I order a pizza, will I be able to stop after the second slice? Or should I just think about it as a “definitely not”?

The "Recession" Diet. More or Less?

Everyday, I write articles about weight loss, diets and special exercises that can help get Superman abs but now, with the crisis, it seems there’s a new diet I should be writing about: the recession diet.  I read an article today about some health studies linking obesity to low incomes.  The questions are: will we eat less because we’ve got less money in our wallets? Or will we eat more, mostly cheap junk food, ‘cause we’re angry, upset, annoyed we ain’t got no money? Is there a third option here?
