So, this is my first post. I Guess I should start from the beginning then. Well, since I left the Marines 4 years ago, I've put on some weight and I haven't really liked what I see in the mirror each morning. As of recently my wife left on a year long deployment and I've decided that I would lose this extra weight I'm carrying while she is gone. I'm not doing it just for her, and I know that no matter what I do, I'll never change in her eyes, but I think it would be nice to have her take a second look again. Luckily she's not someplace that myself and my son can't visit, so we will be traveling to see her in a few months. I have no delusions that I will lose all this weight before then, but I'd like to show some improvement. About 9 months from now I will be visiting her without the little one and I'd like to be looking good for her. So, for the past month I've been watching what I eat and running just about every day, and lifting weights every other day, cause I have skinny arms. Some weeks it is every day, but sometimes the running has just been a stress reliever for me. I've also cut back on my smoking and I'm hoping to completely quit at the end of this week. People at work have noticed and have said good things, but I'm not satisfied. I don't think I've been eating right so I'm starting over on my eating habits. I found that I was watching my calories way too much and not eating enough. My plan this week is to make sure I'm eating all my meals, snacks and all. Well, that's about it for this one, more later.......
