Sunday, January 18th.

 So it wasn't 7 am, but I did roll out of bed at 8:30 and went for a brisk stroll around Greenlake until 10:30.  I did one circuit, so it was only 3 miles.  It was interesting how busy it was - - everyone was out early taking advantage of a rare sunny Seattle day.  I intend to go earlier (still thinking 7 am) to beat some of the crowds. 

 I still need to work on my water consumption for the day since I only have gotten 32 ounces so far.  It's football Sunday, so while I definitely could have done worse, I've had a bit of comfort food today.  This includes about 4 pieces of bacon (the well-done pieces that couldn't go into the chili we're making), 2 - 20 ounce beers, four fish patties and rice, and some oatmeal with brown sugar.  The good part about the chili we're making is that it is really spicy, and I usually eat considerably less of such spicy foods.  Besides that and some cheese & crackers, I think that will wrap up my consumption for the night.  (Maybe one more beer with the game that's on now...)

 Since I don't volunteer tomorrow, I'll get to make a pass around Greenlake before my boyfriend heads to work.  I'll make sure to drink at least 64 more ounces of water tonight since I haven't been drinking enough as of late. 

 Day one summary?  I've eaten better, and I've eaten worse.  I'll weigh myself on Wednesdays to start tracking weight loss, and I should have the beginnings of a routine by then I'm hoping.

Preparing for Tomorrow

We always say, "I'll start my diet tomorrow, I'll work out tomorrow, I'll that those first steps to losing weight tomorrow."  Tomorrow is here.  I am going to start turning things around in my diet tomorrow by making the plans and setting things up tonight. 

My challenges all can be overcome, including lack of time, desire, resources, motivation and all the other roadblocks that have stopped me in the past. 

I am using this blog because I need someone to whom I can be held accountable.  Not that anyone will read this, but the potential for viewers is enough to help me begin.  I also have a terrible habit of not drinking enough or any water during the day.  I know that this is a huge weight loss factor, both for appetite mangement and for hydration of my digestion system.

So, starting at 7 am tomorrow, I'm going to take a morning walk.  I'd like to say I'd make it every day, but we'll take this one day at a time.  I enjoy walking, but I'd love to work my way up to jogging and running.  I can honestly say I've never in my 32 years of life never gone out for a run before.....sad, sad, sad.  :)
