So tomorrow is the day..
Tara
So tomorrow (Monday) is the day I start with the new lifestyle change. No it isn't a diet, it is something I mapped out myself, with foods I can, and will and enjoy eatig. I will weigh myself tomorrow and post it here when I do. I gained a few pounds this weekend with the BBQ and all haha but it's ok...life is what it is right? No sense beating myself up over it. I enjoyed myself and tomorrow is a new day.

Diet change!
Tara

Ok so I'm not going completely vegetarian. After speaking with my Dr, looking at foods, etc..I decided to just incorporate alot of fruits and veggies, stick to fish, chicken and turkey and pork (white meats only, unprocessed) Except for the occasonal all beef hotdog (hey can't give all the good stuff up!) and only for dinner, no other time during the day. Still going with the no white rule (No white bread, flours, sugars, etc) I'm officially starting on Monday, since I have a BBQ reunion tomorrow!

On Monday I'll weigh myself and post it here as my official start date...I'm excited..I really am!

The start of my journey...
Tara

So this is my first blog! I set it so that anyone can read it...although I'm not sure if anyone will haha. I created this blog tho to chronicle my weight loss journey. Some background. I am 27 and 5'3 and use to weigh 300 lbs. Over the past 5 years I've slowly (and I do mean slowly) lost 80 lbs of that and currently weight 220 lbs. Yeah it was slow but I did keep it off, so I won't complain much. However I've come to a point where I want to get serious with my weight loss, and lose the remaining weight, immediately.

How much do I want to lose? Good question! I guess ultimately I will be going by what I look like, rather than just the number on the scale, but I'm guessing between 125 at the lowest, to 150 at the highest, so it means I need to lose between 70 - 95 lbs. My goal date? Well right now I'm a fulltime student and will be graduating May of 2008...so that's my goal date. I have 11 months to lose what I need to. And my reward for doing so? Well besides the health benefits of course...I'm going to fly to LA for 2 weeks and just enjoy the town, enjoy the sites and of course, show off the new body! lol

So how will I be achieving this? Well, I'm taking up a vegetarian diet, and cutting out "the white". That means no white flour, no white bread, no sugar, etc. I'm type 2 diabetic, so I really shouldn't be eating those things anyways because they raise my insulin levels...but I think this diet will be good for me. No I'm not just going to live off of raw veggies either! There are alot of great vegan/soy products that are out there and I'm definately going to be exploring them.

So I have a party to attend this weekend, but come Monday, It's start of the new change. For exercise I plan to walk and do crunches for now...and maybe later on after I've gotten into the groove of things, I'll join a gym...but I think I'd like to drop about 25 lbs or so before I do that.

So there you have it..there is the story, there is the goal, some of the motivation and how I plan to do it. Wish me luck!
