A Workout Regimen Worthy of a Good Look “Twilight: Eclipse” Actor

Have you seen “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” trailer yet? Jacob looks better than ever and his shirts certainly highlight that. He must have an interesting workout training.

Taylor Lautner aka Jacob Black had to gain about 30 pounds of muscle mass in one year to be suitable for the role, according to Men's Health.com. Believe it or not, he actually managed to become “a rippled fitness animal.”

Lautner’s trainer, Jordan Yuam, says: “The less muscle you have, the easier it is to gain muscle mass more quickly.” The plan is to follow a smart, strategic workout training and eat right.

To build strong muscles you need to push your limits. Accustom your body with heavy loads. Say you can lift 120 pounds 10 times; it’s not enough, go to 170 pounds. Do it carefully though.

Lautner varies reps and the amount of weight lifting exercises on a regular basis, so he could maximize gains. When muscles are forced to adapt to new routines they are also forced to grow.

Free weights are good, but if you attach giant rubber bands to dumbbells or bars is even better. “The bands create more tension, making the lift harder and forcing your muscles to peak out at the top of the movement,” said Lautner’s trainer.

Don’t overdo cardio exercises. Cardio doesn’t have the right effects on people who usually have trouble building muscle mass. “If you’re trying to gain lean mass, focus on weight-lifting with the proper technique and the right plan,” explained Jordan Yuam.

Working out mostly your abs won’t bring you six-packs. Don't overwork your abs and combine exercises so you’d work your entire core. Lautner targets his abs three days a week and chooses exercises that work his entire core.

Traditional lifts should be combined with side-to-side exercises. These exercises boost the ability to move in any path. A few sets of lateral lunges and hops into every leg workout will do the trick.

You can’t work out continuously; your muscles need time to repair. Taylor Lautner works out five days a week at most and takes every third day off.

Nutrition is important too, so eat right in order to build strong muscles. Set a daily calorie goal and balance your meals.

Taylor Lautner is the living proof that you can look great using the above tips. So what are you waiting for? Start working out today!
