Oprah Winfrey’s Battle With Weight

Oprah Winfrey is one of the most successful people in the world and an inspiration to many but she still struggles with her weight.  



Oprah Winfrey had many ups and downs; she would lose weight and then gain it all back.  So let’s see what she did when she wanted to lose weight.  



She cut out all “white stuff” which means all refined flours, potatoes, pasta, white rice, and sugar.  She said “no” to alcohol.  As we all know alcohol contains a lot of calories even though it can be misleading since it is liquid.  She practiced portion control.  She stopped eating after a certain time during the day. 

 

Some experts say you should not eat after 6PM, others tell us not to eat three hours before going to bed.  Experts say that people who eat after dinner most of time do it for emotional reasons not real hunger.  Oprah also drank a lot of water.  Some say that if you drink a whole glass of water before dinner, you will eat less.  She also ate a lot of vegetables and lean proteins.  



Oprah’s exercise was running; she even ran a marathon.  Oprah, of course, had a celebrity trainer, Bob Greene.  


Oprah has been known to do detox diets.  She has done 21-day detox diet and went vegan and cut out caffeine, sugar, gluten, and alcohol.  


In 1988 she lost 67 pounds on a liquid protein diet.  Unfortunately she gained it back after a short while.  


As we can all see it is extremely difficult to keep the weight off once you lost it.  You have to change the way you live.  You cannot just do a detox diet for a month, lose the weight and say “that’s it, I am done.”  That’s not how it works; you have to work hard to keep that weight off.
