White Tea and Its Benefits
By Rebecca Marli, Project Weight Loss staff writer
October 20, 2007

The effect of white tea on bacteria is recognized by many specialists. This type of tea contains antioxidants more active than those found in green tea. White tea also has the smallest amount of caffeine compared to black and green tea. It contains fifteen milligrams of caffeine, while the black tea has forty and the green tea twenty milligrams of caffeine.

White tea is produced from the buds of a plant called Camellia sinensis without any fermentation or processing. Once the plant is picked, it`s kept at steam and then dried. White tea is different from green tea because it has a sweeter flavor, also protects the immune system, and it has more anti-bacteria and anti-viral properties.

Moderate white tea consumption along with the proper medication prescribed by the doctor may help people who suffer from colon cancer by enhancing the medication`s effects. Those who suffer from skin cancer or spend too much time in sun may find in white tea a good ally.

From all types of tea, white tea is the richest in polyphenol. Polyphenol is a strong antioxidant and makes the white tea the most efficient tea that can prevent cancer. Although these results are based on studies, future research is needed in order to establish the exact action that white tea has on human body.
