March 17, 2008When you say St Patrick`s Day, you think of beer and shamrocks. However, many people seem to celebrate St Patrick`s Day by eating green foods. If you want try this healthy habit for St Patrick`s Day, here are a few tips that may help you:
Tip #1: Have a green smoothie. Smoothies are easy to digest, rich in nutrients, and high in water content. Along with flax seeds, smoothies can increase the amount of fiber and EFA.
Tip #2: Have a green salad. For a green salad, you may choose from a large variety of foods rich in nutrients such as collard, turnip, and mustard greens, watercress, spinach, Swiss chard, cabbage, kale, Bok Choy, Brussels sprouts, arugula, and radish.
Tip #3: Try green soups. You may have a perfect St Patrick`s Day green soup if you combine green vegetables rich in vitamins and cashews instead of dairy products.
Tip #4: Choose kiwi instead of oranges. Kiwi is a great source of vitamin C and it`s considered to be one of the healthiest fruits, so you may get your daily recommended dose of vitamin C from kiwi instead of oranges.
Tip #5: Add broccoli to your diet. Broccoli is great for green soup and steamed broccoli works fine with most meals.
Tip #6: Increase your fiber intake with healthy green lentils. Green lentils are regular around the house and they may be consumed fresh. For instance, they are also good as the main content of an Ezekiel wrap.
