August 15, 2008Lauren Conrad, famous for her part in the MTV reality series “The Hills”, has lost 10 pounds with the help of her personal instructor. She doesn`t like to weigh herself and she was never obsessed with the scale.
The only thing she does to look great and prevents putting on weight is a daily 1,500 calorie diet composed by six mini meals and twice – weekly treadmill sessions and weight lifting. Her slimming secrets are quite simple: no bread, lettuce sandwiches, a cheat day and when you look great you have a lot more confidence in yourself.
Lauren has given up pasta although it was really hard for her. When “everyone wants to order pizza, I make them eat bean bowls (kidney, garbanzo and black beans with tomatoes).” Fortunately for her, Audrina Patridge, her roommate, is on the same diet plan. The six meals planned for a day are split in three actual meals and three snacks.
One day of her life respecting the 1,500 calories diet looks like this: for breakfast she has a whole – wheat toast and peanut butter, for lunch a protein shake, the snacks are basically composed by almonds and apples, and for dinner she has lean fish and steamed vegetables. She indulges in carbs on her cheat day.
Her workout is an hour session of treadmill and weight lifting twice a week. She also incorporates one hour of hiking in LA`s Runyon Canyon when she isn`t working out. Her personal instructor, Jarett Del Bene, advised her to take up kickboxing. Del Bene explains “Lauren really wanted to tone her arms and legs - she was happy with what she had, but she wanted to take it to the next level.”
Lauren`s routine includes a circuit training followed three times a week: squats, lungs, pushups, pull ups, free weights. The other days of the week are filled with cardio exercising like running, kickboxing and hiking. She says “I love waking up early and going on an hour hike. It’s the perfect start to my day.”
Lauren says that after the routine was followed step by step for six months she lost her belly weight and “Now I’m happy about my arms because they were a little mushy!” She adds “When I work out regularly and eat healthy, I feel better.” She was a fast food fan, but she had the courage to leave that habit behind.
She is very happy about the way she looks now. Eating small meals helps her keep her metabolism up. Her exercise routine is realistic and the good thing is she can handle it. Lauren is a good example showing that you can tone up by working out smartly and you don`t even need to spend your time in the gym.
Lauren says that: “It’s fun to have a workout buddy!” Therefore, is you aren`t strong enough to take up a diet by yourself, you should find a friend and so the burden is divided to two.
