November 04, 2008Everybody’s having babies in Hollywood and the trend is to sell t the magazines pictures with the baby. Gwen Stefani ignored the trend, as always, and posted a single portrait picture with her and new born son, Zuma, on her website. I must say she looked unbelievable beautiful. It’s been almost three months since she gave birth and Gwen is back in shape. What’s her after-birth secret?
Gwen Stefani has been dieting and struggling with her weight since 6th grade. She calls this period - in which she turned her world upside down to maintain a size 4 - a “nightmare”. “I hate talking about it, but it's true. I've always been on a diet, ever since I was in the sixth grade. It's an ongoing battle and it's a nightmare. But I like clothes too much, and I always wanted to wear the outfits I would make. And I'm very vain,” she explains.
The singer believes she’s gotten to be more feminine in this last few years and the feminine look she has now fits her better and makes her feel more comfortable with herself. When it comes to her post-pregnancy life, Gwen describes it as chaotic metabolism, sleep deprivation and “a crazy amount of energy because of all those hormones”. The singer revealed she eats healthy food but allows herself a pizza or a cookie once or twice a day.
Proteins, fish, vegetables and a lot of water are always in the list. For example, she prefers eating fruits for breakfast and chicken kebabs for lunch. She combines diet with every day exercise. Gwen prefers cardio, strength training, jogging and hikes in the neighborhood to keep in shape. Gwen works out with her personal trainer, Mike Heatlie, five times a week. He uses a fitness ball in order to keep Gwen’s backside curvy and has her boxing and lifting weights.
When it comes to keeping fit, Gwen has a very simple and universal theory: “it’s simple math: you put this much food in, you burn that much working out”. All in all, she’s motivated to keep a smoking body: ‘”if you had paparazzi outside your house, you’d make sure you looked good, too!”
