Desperate to Lose Those Holiday Pounds? Gwyneth Paltrow Doesn't Have the Solution
By Alice Mitchell, Project Weight Loss Editor
January 13, 2009

She’s known for her acting career, her 1999 Oscar for Best Actress in Shakespeare in Love and, of course, for her wrong diet choices. The Macrobiotic diet, Live foods 5 day cleanse which has gotten her a prolonged visit in the hospital, and cupping are just a few of the diets Gwyneth Paltrow has been following these past few years. Now she’s bragging about her post-holiday detox diet.

“I like to do fasts and detoxes a couple of times during the year, the most hardcore one being the Master Cleanse I did last spring. It was not what you would characterize as pretty. Or easy,” she says. But then again, that’s not surprising when it comes to Hollywood size zero celebrities. Everything must be done in order to lose those holiday excess pounds.

Gwyneth will appear on the screens on February 13th in the movie “Two Lovers”, directed by James Gray. The actress proposes herself to eliminate any “holiday excess” to look fabulous and her solution is no other than the New Year detox diet.

This includes mostly liquids such as soups and juices. Obviously, this is a very-low calorie diet, with less than 1,000 calories a day. In the first week she has to avoid: dairy, sugar, meat, grains with gluten, fatty nuts, potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes and a few other “bad” foods. This is not strict, this is depriving and fat from healthy. But her motivation is simple: "I will be suffering along with you to kickstart my year a bit lighter."
