Keira Knightely's Problematic Diet

Although the Oscars are a month away, predictions about who will get what are buzzing all over the Internet. Keira Knightley, known for her “royal” parts has already been pre-awarded “Best Actress” for her role in “The Duchess”. Until now, the young actress has caused a stir less about her acting career and more about her weight. “Anybody with an ounce of intelligence would say that too much emphasis is put on weight . . . I’ve been on the screen since the age of seven and you can see what my body type is if you want to. I am not anorexic. I have never been anorexic and I do not have any eating disorder”, argued Keira when questioned again and again about her weight. The first words that come to mind when looking at her body are thin, skinny, maybe anorexic or bulimic. This Oscar-nominated actress sued the Daily Mail for implying that her skinny, perfect, size zero celebrity body has gotten one of her fans with a self-destructive eating disorder. Media is constantly writing articles pointing out her “shadowy” body. "I’ve got a lot of experience with anorexia - my grandmother and great-grandmother suffered from it, and I had a lot of friends at school who suffered from it, so I know it’s not something to be taken lightly and I don’t. But I don’t have it, I am very sure of that,” explained the actress. She also emphasizes on the fact that her body is naturally thin and has got no solution to gain weight. Although she did mention getting pregnant: "That's a good reason to have a kid. They won't say I'm anorexic any more. S**t, I've got to have a child." Keira says that although she eats in large quantities, her diet is a healthy one. The 23-year-old actress doesn’t eat junk food and, instead, “I go to farmers markets in London and cook really good sort of organic foods.” Her favorite and most often practiced “exercise” is turning on the radio. “I really like the idea of yoga but I can’t do it. It just pisses me off. If anybody tells me to relax then I just tend to tense up. That’s why I’m not a yoga girl at all unfortunately,” admitted the actress. When it comes to working out at the gym, the answer is no different: “I’m not a gym person at all”. That’s because, as she argues, it’s repetitive and, therefore, boring.
