March 02, 2009The Ultimate New York Diet was created by celebrity fitness trainer David Kirsch. His diet promises great results after just two weeks. He says you ca "expect to lose up to 14 pounds, five inches off your waist, and a heavy percentage of body fat during the first two weeks of the plan alone".
The diet’s name is linked to the New York City way of life which is the need to change and improve your lifestyle. The weight loss plan is a low-carb and high-protein diet, and it is distributed in three phases: first two last for two weeks and the third one is the maintaining one, also called “lifelong” phase.
In the first phase Kirsch cuts out of the meals starchy carbs, extra sweets, bread, alcohol, coffee, fruit and the majority of the foods that contain fats. Instead, he replaces them with low-starch vegetables, nuts, chicken bread, egg whites, mushrooms and salmon. In this phase the daily intake must not accumulate more than 1,000 calories.
In the next phase an extra daily carbohydrate serving is added. You can choose, for example, from beans or apples to sweet potatoes or berries. The daily calorie intake remains the same. The last phase also adds some of the foods that were forbidden in the first phase. Even with this, it is recommended to consume these foods in moderation.
Obviously it included a workout routine, considering the creator is a fitness trainer. So, weight loss is achieved not only as a result of a low-calorie intake, but also because of extreme exercising.
