March 10, 2009Felicity Huffman, better known as Lynette from Desperate Housewives, is starring in Phoebe in Wonderland, which has its premiere last week. Felicity was looking fabulous. How did she learn how to eat healthy and get over the eating disorders?
The 47-year-old actress knows how important is to eat healthy and follow a balanced diet. But that doesn’t mean she’s given up junk or unhealthy food. To still eat the foods she likes, Felicity uses portion control to control the quantity that she’s eating. When it comes to exercise, Felicity’s workout routine includes cycling, jogging, tennis, and of course, motherhood. “I love outdoors,” said the actress.
In her twenties, Felicity had problems dealing with bulimia : “As an actress, I was never thin enough, never pretty enough. My boobs weren’t big enough. I was throwing up all the time, figuring out what foods you can throw up and what foods you can’t. Everything was judged as ‘that was a good time in my life because I was thin’ or ‘that was a bad time in my life because I was fat’,” explains Felicity. That’s why she insists on a balanced diet in her family. 'We eat well and healthily,' she says. 'I insist on it.'
