Lisa Edelstein's Way to Stay Thin in the House

By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer

Season 5 of House TV series has ended but the expectations for season 6 have already appeared. It is said that the next season will be dramatic. Cuddy’s role is played by the good looking actress Lisa Edelstein. What’s her secret for such a thin figure?

Lisa is a vegetable lover and has a balanced diet. Still, in order to stay thin she controls her portion sizes. Controlling your portions isn’t that hard as you may think. Here are 7 secrets to do it:

Reduce your dinner

You can either have leftovers or, if you go to a restaurant, take a lunch entree instead of a dinner entree – they are smaller. There is always the children’s menu as an alternative.

Do it half-way

Don’t change the recipe or your favorite foods. Just cut the amount in half to reduce the calories. If you’re still hungry choose a fruit instead of the other half of the food. Eating slowly may help.

Small packages coming right up

Love junk food? Choose the small bags! With this financial crisis you may incline for the large bags – it’s ok. But buy some zipper bags too, to divide the large ones.

Stay away from the “big-tasty” offers

You may agree with me when I say fast food products are usually tastier, so if can’t resist the temptation, at least choose kid’s meals. Also, buy something that comes along with salads instead of something that comes with a huge soda.

No good buffets

It may be hard to control yourself not to eat when you can take lotsa foods and at a small price. How to resist? Just think how guilty you’ll feel after. Often people choose to purge because of this. Resisting this temptation is.

Size up the calories

Check the snacks’ nutrition label – you can also use our calorie counter to find out. If you know how many calories are in those snacks you tend to eat you may quit bad eating habits.

Compare the amounts

Controlling portions can be easily done if you compare amounts mentally or with a tool that gives this kind of information. Another way is to compare food with objects you use often. E.g. a piece of meat may lead to the size of a matchbook.
