"The Biggest Loser" Diet
By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer

Jerry Hayes and Helen Phillips are Season 7’s big winners. They say "The Biggest Loser" diet is easy to follow. What do you know about this diet? Let’s see their advice.

Jerry and Helen advice people to stick to the diet plan faithfully, being the recipe for gaining energy, getting healthier and the most important thing, losing weight. Do you want more details? Here they are:

Turkey, lean beef, and chicken, meaning lean proteins, should be about 30% of your diet. Speaking of percentage, 45% of your diet should be whole-grain carbohydrates. Still, be aware to avoid "enriched” ingredients. The rest of 25% should be represented by healthy fats. Another “secret” is to drink, drink, and drink! Don’t think about alcohol – no way. All beverages allowed are water, coffee, tea and milk.

This diet is like a pyramid of 4-3-2-1. What does it mean? What is this? No worries – I’m explaining now: 4 servings of fruits and veggies; 3 servings of lean protein; 2 servings of whole grains; 1 “extra” serving. “Extra” means oils, fats, sweets, not more than 200 calories.

Of course, you need a fitness program as well. Now this can be made by yourself. It’s easier using a workout planner. By the way, there is one on this web site.

Don’t skip breakfast – it’s important to have a healthy one daily. Every meal should include fruits and vegetables. Include proteins as well, even in snacks. Most important – plan your meals and exercises.
