Ellen Pompeo' Style for Staying Fit in Grey's Anatomy
By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer
September 25, 2009

On its sixth-season premiere, “Grey's Anatomy” has lost Dr. George O'Malley who died. Don’t worry, it’s only the character. T.R. Knight lives happy, so does Ellen Pompeo who plays Meredith Grey. Let’s leave the dead ones behind and talk about Meredith Grey. I mean about Ellen Pompeo’s diet.

Ellen Pompeo keeps her workout and diet under control. She works out, mixing the exercises so she won’t get bored, according to iFitAndHealthy.com. But in order to have energy and work out properly, you need to pay attention to your diet as well.

The actress doesn’t eat much junk food. That’s a good advice for everyone. If you do crave for junk food, eat with moderation and choose the low-calorie ones like: potato chips baked in a hot oven; regular cookies (without chocolate); Cheetos - Frito-Lay.

Pompeo has six small meals a day. Your meals should include eggs, vegetables, lean meats, fish, nuts, and protein shakes. That means about 1,500 calories daily. Try to avoid bread. Also, you may want to split in three actual meals and three snacks.

She tries to cut the sugar too. “I try to stay away from sugar while I’m shooting, and then on the weekends, I eat what I want. If I eat a Dove ice cream bar I feel great, but then I want a nap because I crash from the sugar. If I have to work and memorize my lines until one in the morning, I can’t be taking a nap!” said Pompeo.

You see? There are ways to lose weight or just stay fit without starving. Actually, if you think about it, it’s healthier this way.

Well, good thing Dr. Grey\'s alive. As for the actress, she\'s on an interesting diet.
