Debi Mazar from Entourage Shares Her Diet Secrets
By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer
September 28, 2009

Shauna is Vince Chase’s publicist. She is played by Debi Mazar, a wonderful actress who works with great actors and directors like Jodi Foster and Woody Allen. So what’s the secret for her beauty?

Debi is married to an Italian musician, Gabriele Corcos, and has two daughters – Evelina and Giulia. In order to lose weight after her pregnancies she did Pilates and followed the Fresh Dining diet. This diet includes 5 meals a day that are made of low-glycemic carbs and lean proteins of 1200-1400 calories per day.

She and her husband love to cook. Debi learned from him how to cook Italian dishes, according to Women’s Health. “I'd muddle Italian dishes with too much garlic, onion, and spices. He does everything simply and uses less - not too much oil, a little garlic but sliced perfectly,” said the actress.

They love wine and know how to avoid a hangover. The actress says their “trick is to serve just a thumb's worth in these small osteria-type tumblers, and really enjoy how it accompanies the meal.” Yet, it’s important not to mix wines and stick to one kind.

Debi Mazar cooks what's fresh for the day. She uses fresh vegetables, fruits, and other foods because it’s easier to prevent gaining weight. She didn’t give up the foods she likes to stay in shape. All she does is to eat her favorite foods with moderation.

“Always rip basil and lettuce with your hands (or use a ceramic knife). Cutting with metal turns the edges brown;” is another cooking secret from her. “For easy garlic bread, rub a freshly peeled clove on oven-toasted, buttered Italian bread.” Olive oil is the best oil for cooking.

When cooking basics like sausage, chicken, and sauces jack up the amounts you make and put to fridge the rest ones so you can build around already-prepared main dishes.

Controlling your portions and “improving” your cooking style with ones from other countries can make your meals more delicious. Also, it can be a great way to spend time with your dearest, as in Debi Mazar’s case.
