Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock might have been excited will the craziness that came with the Academy Awards ceremony, but she didn’t forget her healthy habits. The actress has been seen shopping at Whole Foods in California on March 3rd, according to PopSugar. She was taught by her mother to eat macrobiotic foods and to stay away from chemicals and pesticides. If you’re on a diet, you may want to try a macrobiotic diet, which is very rich in lean proteins. The macrobiotic diet is based on beans, certain types of meat, fish, whole grains, and vegetables. Those who want to follow the Macrobiotic diet need to have patience, consume whole grains daily if possible, eat food products with plant-based proteins instead of animal-based proteins. Here’s a recipe for a whole grain soup, according to The Whole Grains Council: Lentil Soup, 15 servings. Ingredients 1 15 oz of can mandarin oranges, drained 2 tablespoons of butter 1 cup of orange juice 4 cups of butternut squash, peeled and cubed 12 cups of chicken or vegetable broth 1 package of Frontier Soups Washington Squash Lentil Soup 1 large onion, chopped 1 bunch of fresh green onions, sliced Instructions Take a 6 quart pot and sauté butternut squash and onion in butter for almost 10 minutes. Stir in seasoning packet. Then, add the bulgur wheat, lentils, and broth, bringing to a boil. Next reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 45 minutes. After that add orange pieces and orange juice, sprinkle in green onions, and it’s ready to serve. Well you have a recipe for a healthy lunch, but if you want to eat a healthy breakfast too, choose whole grains, which are a great source of vitamin A and B. ©2010 Project Weight Loss.
