February 04, 2008This fitness program is designed by Harley Pasternak, the fitness trainer responsible with the figure of Eve, Val Kilmer, Orlando Bloom, and Halle Berry. This program is not based on counting calories, measuring portion sizes, or difficult exercises.
The plan includes five types of exercises per week, which can be made at home if you have a bench, a few weights, and five healthy meals per day. Here are the exercises recommended by Pasternak that should last no more than five minutes each.
Phase #1: Cardio exercises.
Phase #2: Strength exercises for the upper part of the body.
Phase #3: Strength exercises for the lower part of the body.
Phase #4: Exercises for back.
Phase #5: Cardio exercises for burning fats.
The last phase may be extended to thirty minutes, depending on your fitness goals. In case you think about the diet, the five phase program is just as simple. You should five meals per day in order to maintain you blood sugar level constant, according to Pasternak. The meals must accomplish five conditions:
The main meal should be rich in proteins, but low in fats. Besides the proteins, the meal should also include carbohydrates with medium glycemic index. You may try beans, vegetables, rice, or sweet potatoes.
Each meal should contain between five and ten grams of fibers. The meals should include only healthy foods and you may serve an unsweetened beverage. Although it`s easy to follow, the five phase program also allows you to cheat. One day per week you may eat whatever you like, you may sink in chocolate or roll in biscuits.
Always ask for medical advice before starting a diet or a fitness program.
