Kate Hudson Reveals Her Secrets: How to Lose Weight and Eat Healthy
By Alice Mitchell, Project Weight Loss
September 24, 2008

She’s on the cover of this year’s issue of World’s Most Beautiful People. The one and only Kate Hudson is sweet, sexy, in style and always in great shape. How does she do it? How did she lose (in such a short period of time, those inches and pounds after having a baby? Well, it seems she’s got a few secrets up her sleeves, but, fortunately, doesn’t keep them all to herself. The 29 years old actress follows a proper diet and exercises regularly. She says her favorites are salads for dinner and yoghurt with honey for breakfast.

Firstly, Kate reduced her daily caloric intake, adjusting it to her weight, height and other factors. To do as she did, you should consult a specialist. Kate’s diet is rich in lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish and tofu) and low carbohydrates (fresh fruit, vegetables and legumes). Essential fatty acids, such as fish, olive oil, seeds and nuts, are also important, helping the body to function properly. Kate limited her caloric intake to approximately 1.500 calories a day, cutting down on bread and pastas.

Secondly, the actress trained a lot so she could lose those 60 pounds she gained while pregnant with her son, Ryder. Her daily routine included up to three-hour workouts: one hour of cardio, one hour of Pilates or yoga and 30 minutes to an hour running on the treadmill.

For Kate, working out has become a routine, even though you might think she doesn’t need it anymore. She still does ninety minutes of kickboxing, Pilates, yoga. She loves dancing, so she takes dance classes in order to spice her workout and avoid boredom. This is how she started taking classes in Sheila Kelley's striptease workout S-Factor and doing pole-dancing, recommended by a dancer friend of hers.

Keep in mind that you need determination to be able to balance your diet and a proper workout. We may say that Kate has an advantage because, before starting her career as an actress, she liked practicing football, canoe, scuba-diving and was always enjoying going on a hike.

If you want to see more of Kate Hudson and her beautiful body, she’s playing the role of Alexis, described by Reuters as “a sexually aggressive woman”, in the movie “My Best Friend’s Girl”, “freshly” released on the 19th of September.
