Is There a Connection between True Blood and Surfing?

By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer

“True Blood” is one of the most watched television series and it sure creates a bloody atmosphere.  Drinking synthetic blood and dating the girl next door, the actors bewitch you with romance, intrigue, action, and steamy scenes.  Actors with great bodies and unusual hobbies try hard to look good and act even better.

There’s a connection between surf and “True blood”, both proper and metaphorical speaking.  Anna Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse, the psychic waitress.  Her passions are surfing and cycling.  Among the benefits of surf is cardiovascular and heart health.  So she stays pretty good with her blood pressure.  Is there a thirsty vampire in the house?

It’s well known some of the hottest bodies in the hemisphere of sports belong to surfers and Anna Paquin can prove this.  Here are the benefits of surfing:  muscles tone, cardiovascular and heart health, increases energy, and endurance.

You have lots of fun in no time and exercise in the mean while.  It’s better than going to the gym because unlike it, when you surf you don’t feel like taking a break.  Or a good workout program is all about the intensity and time spent exercising and surfing keeps you constantly moving.  Being a workout, you should pay attention to what you eat:  Have high-protein and low-fat meals.  Also drink plenty of water.

The ocean is full of revitalizing energy.  Waves are travelling miles and miles giving their energy to those who ride them.  Surfing keeps you forever young.  You see people of all ages surfing.  Let’s talk about mental benefits:  it reduces stress and gives a laid back attitude about life.

It’s good to know surfing needs a little “extra”.  Try stretching, Pilates, Yoga, or other forms of exercising to prevent muscles from shortening.  There’s a risk to have unbalanced muscles.

Here’s a short surfing lesson:  Find a rideable wave and try to match its speed.  If the wave carries you away jump to your feet and ride it.  Don’t worry if you haven’t caught the first wave.  Keep trying.  It is important to control your board.

Surfing is so popular that in our days it represents a multi-billion dollar industry.  You can make a career out of it too, by receiving corporate sponsorships.
