October 03, 2008Tina Turner, the well known almost 69-year-old singer, opened, on Wednesday, her 36-date North American tour with a concert at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. She has been an entertainer for 50 years, sold 60 million copies of her records worldwide and has had 17 Top Ten hits. How is it that she’s still got the “za-za-zu”?
In Tina Turners’ Biography, the singer gives people a piece of advice to improve their life. Lesson number one is to take care of yourself and exercise. Taking into account that she’s almost 69, has got a great figure and unbelievable energy, then she must be right. But what else does she do to keep her body in such great shape? The singer says dancing 2-3 hours on the stage almost every night, for almost 45 years is her secret. That is, indeed, a fitness regimen she is constantly following, because her live performances are always a session of hyper-aerobic.
Dancing has a well known toning and slimming effect. Moreover, there are also other benefits such as: it burn calories, it improves flexibility, is good for the heart, reducing blood pressure and lowering the level of cholesterol, and is good for the bones, preventing osteoporosis. As if dancing wasn’t enough, Tina Turner has also practiced Pilates to keep fit. The singer had a British doctor, Rajendra Sharma, which has taken care of her body and has maintained it in good shape. The doctor believes Tina Turner has got the energy of a 20-year-old. His methods include: exercise, diet, and meditation techniques.
No wonder that the results of a poll made by magazine “In Touch” showed that Tina Turner is one of the celebrities with the most beautiful, sexy legs. Her performances are the equivalent of at least 2 hours of tae-bo. Most of all, her super energy on the stage says it all. "I might be 90 or 100 years old, but I'll be able to say, 'I've got it!'”, the singer added.
