Nicole Kidman, the Diary of a Workout Fanatic
By Alice Mitchell, Project Weight Loss Editor
November 19, 2008

Nicole Kidman is definitely a news supplier for the magazines these days.  First, she announced she’ll be producing the movie “The Danish Girl”, in which she plays the role of a transsexual, and now she releases to the press the “bomb retirement”.  The actress gave birth a few months ago and the diet plan she followed has worked pretty well, so well that Nicole is thinking of having another baby and putting her acting career on hold.

Three weeks after giving birth to Sunday Rose, her daughter, she was on the bike, pedaling and recovering.  But that’s no news when it comes to celebrities.  Workouts were also part of her life while pregnant.  Media have made a big issue out of this and came up with a name that sounds like a disease: “pregorexia”.  This includes the cases of celebrities that are too thin during pregnancy, which most certainly influences pregnant women to go for an unhealthy regime in order to keep a slim figure.

Specialists recommend new mothers to exercise only after six weeks.  Contrary to advices, Nicole had a personal trainer working with her during pregnancy. She was taking yoga classes, training with weights, cycling, running, hiking, and playing tennis.  After giving birth to Sunday Rose, she didn’t give up her workout routine. The 41-year-old actress continued to go to yoga classes and was running 4 miles every day.

Nicole admitted she never felt that heavy and that she was desperate to lose the extra pounds gained during pregnancy.  The actress estimated she lost around 18 pounds in a few weeks, even though she was aiming for 20. Being an exercise fanatic, losing weight after another baby she’s planning to have shouldn’t be a problem. These days she is eating healthy food.  Her diet consists of carbohydrates, healthy fats and lean meats.  Fish and vegetables are at the top of her list.
