You want to get in shape or take your fitness routine to a next level and that’s great, but if you’re not careful you may hurt yourself. Here are some tips for avoiding that. Even if it sounds trivial, start knowing your body. Experts say it’s often overlooked and so the wounds appear, according to medicinenet.com. Know your body limitations and you won’t get hurt. This means you should avoid exercises that push hard on the weak area of your body and don’t do certain fitness activities until you are in a better shape. Men and women have different physiologic issues, so depending on your sex, try to take some precautions. Women do better at activities requiring diagonal or multiple planes of motion. Men, on the other hand, function better in activities that require a rigid plane of motion. Exercises that require diagonal or multiple planes of motion are yoga, Pilates, spinning, or stair steppers. Activities that require a rigid plane of motion are Nautilus machines, push-ups, and other weight lifting exercises, but in a restricted format. If you are a beginner, consider taking a few lessons with a trainer. Experts advice can help you acknowledge how to work out properly, when to rest, what weights you should use, and when to move on a next level with your fitness plan. Don’t try to recuperate the periods of inactivity. You might end up over-exercising and that’s how injuries appear. Always warp up before every session. This way you help the muscles handle stress. ©2010 Project Weight Loss. All rights reserved.
