Hollywood Weight Loss Tips from Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Alba

Although everyone in her family is overweight, Jessica Alba has a great body. Her secret: she has been on a diet since she was twelve years old. This incredible discipline has helped her reach and maintain that perfect shape.

Jessica's meals are rigorously planned. Usually, she has cottage cheese and a peach or egg-white omelet and fruits for breakfast. She has a salad for lunch while her dinner consists of chicken with vegetables or fish. Jessica does not serve desserts or bread too often, but she likes to eat dried fruits, strawberry frozen yogurt, or a chocolate during the day.

When it comes to her workout program, Jessica says she has a normal workout, of up to one hour per day. She starts with treadmills for up to fifteen minutes in order to get her heart rate to almost 180 beats per minute. Sometimes, Jessica replaces treadmills with elliptical machine.

Next, she does fifty lunges and crunches. Then she goes back on the machine for another ten minutes. She does four sets of exercises for the shoulders, triceps, and biceps. Jessica says this workout program makes her feel more energy and improve her self esteem.

Lindsay Lohan may not be the best example for those who want to lose weight, especially teenagers. Although a year ago Lindsay was looking really healthy and was in a shape that many of her fans admired, she now looks older than her twenty two years. Her extreme weight loss of a few years ago may have something to do with her current look.

Lindsay, who debuted in showbiz when she was only twelve, suffered a severe weight loss in 2005. In the same period, she had even reached for the hospital due to exhaustion. In an interview, Lindsay blamed the increased consumption of junk food and not working out properly for her unhealthy state.

However, Lindsay's extreme weight loss may have been fueled by her father`s problems with the law. For a while, specialists believed that her weight loss may be due to some weight loss pills or eating disorders such as bulimia or anorexia nervosa, but the young actress has denied these rumors.
