May 17, 2008Angelina Jolie is perhaps one of the most controversial celebrity these days. She became one of the most successful and highly-paid actresses in Hollywood, and is still considered by the media one of the globe’s most beautiful women. Because of this, her personal life has always been widely reported. She has been subject to countless rumors and stories throughout her career.
The relationship with actor Brad Pitt was one of the first things that attracted worldwide media attention. The couple adopted three children. They also have a biological daughter. Later on, rumors began to spread that Jolie might be pregnant again. Speculations went on until she attended the Independent Spirit Awards in 2008. She was wearing a close-fitting dress, which indirectly confirmed the rumors. After a while she officially announced that she is indeed pregnant, expecting twins.
Angelina is also critically acclaimed around the world for her humanitarian causes. She is given credit for working with refugees and helping poor people as best as she can. She visited different refugee camps around the globe, and was shocked to witness the truth. She ended up donating over one million dollars for Afghan refugees in response to an emergency appeal. For her devotion in the subject, she was named a Goodwill Ambassador in 2001.
Another remarkable thing is how she always manages to stay in shape. As an actress, she has often been chosen for action movies. Movies like Tomb Raider, for which she achieved international fame. She was able to perform almost all her stunts, including sword fighting, bungee jumping and spear throwing. She remembers that she never felt more healthier and stronger than then, although it was a huge physical challenge.
She followed a special training program, including kick-boxing, street fighting and yoga. She had to give up cigarettes and coffee and eat steamed meat, vegetables, and drink only soya milk. No sugar allowed. This special diet and training program helped her regain a few pounds and shape her body. She continues to show the world that she is able to stay in shape, by recently completing her new action movie, Wanted.
