August 19, 2009 Eric Dane, the celebrity from "Grey’s Anatomy," tries to leave behind the "sex tape" scandal. Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart, and Kari Ann Peniche appeared nude in a bathroom and a bedroom on a tape. According to their lawyer there is no "sex tape," but a private tape and no one is allowed to exploit the recording. Maybe Dane is not a saint, but he still has some interesting life lessons to give.
The actor has a great life: he has a great relationship, a successful career, and he deals with them with a smile. "All my choices are geared toward creating longevity. I don't know that there's a prep school for this. But coping with success is a quality problem. I deal with it with a smile," quoted him Men's Health.
He embraces the morning – it dictates the scope, mood, and pace of the day. Dane is "out of bed before the alarm goes off" and eats a nutrient-loaded breakfast. "Some mornings I have to go to work at 5:30, but even on off days, I find it hard to sleep past 8 o'clock."
Deadlines can be messy so it’s best not to settle them. "I don't have a by-October-2009-I-want-to-be-here plan. All I do is work with an element of challenge and an element of enjoyment. With that, anything can happen," said Dane. According to him, he is "a goal setter, but in broad strokes."
His body of a TV star wasn’t achieved by exercising for vanity muscles. "Going to the gym and looking for a specific result is a short-lived existence, as opposed to going to the gym and adopting it as a lifestyle. Develop a routine, because it's much harder to break it if you have one. If you have no routine, you have nothing to break, so discipline goes out the window," thinks the actor.
The right person for you may play an important role in your life, so you might want to start seeking. I’m not talking only about physical attraction; there are important things like common needs and goals, spending time together, enjoying life. "Rebecca's serious about working here in town because eventually we're going to start a family. We're homebodies. We love hanging out with each other. So we make sure we have adequate time together."
You can’t control everything happens to you, so it’s all right to go with the flow. "There's a fair amount of stuff I don't have any control over. At the same time, I'm becoming more motivated in my old age. You just find something you're really interested in, and that perpetuates the passion you have for it, whatever it is. Then you get into a groove and start looking for new ways to stretch yourself,” says the actor.
Then again, remember you should do what the doctor says, not what he does. Enjoy life wisely.
