“Lean and Lusty: The Libido Diet” is a new book in which the writer tells her experiments with weight loss, dieting, hormone testing, and sex. Sex therapist Sue McGarvie, the author of the book, has left her mark with her humor and irreverence style of writing.

“Sex is like chocolate cake. When you don't see it, you don't want it. You're not going to get in your car to go get it. But when you see it you want it, and you want it bad,” said Sue, according to The National Post. With her book, Sue tries to teach people how to help themselves, to understand their body, sexuality, and to lose weight, all in the same time.

 

Sue is in the best position to give lessons about losing weight since she lost 140 pounds. “I lost the weight, got much, much hornier, and rediscovered my missing health ... sometimes becoming so much more turned on was damn distracting, and I want to thank God I was born in the technological age, after the invention of sex toys. It wasn't quite a Sex in the City rabbit intervention, but let's just say I used up my share of batteries since I've increased my libido,” said the therapist.

 

It’s not just about losing weight and living healthy; it’s about saving marriages too. Her ideas are supported by Kent McLeod, pharmacist and health advocate. Low libidos have negative side effects, even upon society at large. He says: “I see women for a variety of health issues, and low libido is one of the top four complaints, and yet it's not something that's well understood or addressed.”

 

Few people complain about their lower sexual activity, but that doesn’t mean it’s normal – “Sex is a function of vitality. Low libido is associated with not sleeping, not having any energy, feeling depressed. Is that really how you want to live your life?” asks Kent.

 

Bottom of line, all your habits must be in harmony because they are strictly related. You don’t have to be ashamed of your problems; try to find a solution for them as soon as possible so you can enjoy life.
