Weight Loss Tips Given by a Famous Trainer
By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer
January 12, 2010

Marco Borges is a famous exercise physiologist who has helped both stars and ordinary people to live healthy. Jay-Z, Pharrell, Gwen Stefani, and Gloria Estefan are just a few people from Marco’s portfolio.

Borges answered MiamiHerald.com some questions regarding health and fitness. He has been interested in fitness and diet since childhood, spent lots of time in gyms, and wrote books, his last achievement being “Power Moves: The 4 Motions to Transform Your Body For Life.”

Despite the fact people can control their health and fitness routine, not everyone can actually do it. Marco Borges explained it might be due to the delayed results that come after working out and dieting. Exercising and eating healthy don’t bring immediate visible signs and some people confuse it with no benefits at all.

Since 2010 just started, a new question rose up: What can you do to stick to the plan and accomplish your resolutions to work out and eat healthy? The trainer has a solution for this problem too: Life is not a sprint, so have patience and engage in routine exercise and healthy eating. Focusing on being healthy makes easier accomplishing the resolutions.

You should also know that there are four important exercise motions that use the elbow, shoulder, knee, and hip because they engage the biggest muscle groups. By learning how to work out these muscles you also learn how to use any gym equipment.

People who are too far-out of shape should start with walking, says Marco. It’s easy, can be done anywhere, anytime, and it’s appropriate for any kind of exercise. It is the first step that a completely sedentary person should do toward a more active lifestyle.

Cutting sodas and fast food from your menu is not enough to lose weight if your calorie intake is still high because of other healthy foods. Use portion control or count calories.

Marco Borges’ advice should be considered because he knows what he’s doing. Thanks to him, Gloria Estefan lost 20 pounds.
