Katherine Heigl Diet Secrets

Katherine Heigl is best known for her role as Izzie in Grey’s Anatomy.  She has also been in movies such as Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, and The Ugly Truth.  She also has a new movie coming out soon, Life As We Know It.  So she has been pretty busy lately.  As we all know, it is difficult to keep a healthy diet when you are always on the go.  So let’s see how Heigl does it.

 

Before filming one of her movies, Knocked Up, Heigl followed the 5 Factor Diet and worked out with celebrity trainer, Harley Pasternak.  Pasternak's 5-Factor Diet, delivers five high-protein, high-fiber meals a day.


5 Factor diet plan consists of 5 small meals a day that contain:

1.  Lean protein such as turkey
2.  Healthy carbs including fruit, veggies and whole grains
3.  5-10 grams of fiber (such as 1 cup of berries or half a cup of cooked veggies)
4.  Healthy fats (found in salmon or nuts)
5.  Water of tea


The beauty of 5 Factor plan is that it does give you a system and a structure to follow which always increases the chance for weight loss success.

Heigl’s typical workout consisted of:

5 minutes of jump-roping, jogging, or stair-climbing for a cardio warm-up

A circuit of 4 sets each of the following: 25 dumbbell flies, 25 lunges, 25 low-body crunches

Followed by:

5-25 minutes of cardio running, elliptical training, stair-climbing or biking, with the last five minutes working as a cool-down period


Typical day’s diet included:


Breakfast: French toast with ricotta pillows
Mid-morning snack: A mixed-berry shake
Lunch: TexMex salad with chicken and black beans
Afternoon snack: Hummus crudite
Dinner: Sea Bass with brown rice and edamame


After working out with Pasternak, Heigl never quit, even though before she never used to work out.  Now, she works out regularly.
