Is There Baseball in Heaven? How about Lemonade?
By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer
July 23, 2009

Two old men have been best friends since childhood when one of them suddenly fell deathly sick.  His friend came to visit him on his deathbed and they were reminiscing about their long friendship.  After a while the dying man's friend asked:  "Listen, when you die, please do me a favor:  I want to know if there is baseball in Heaven."

The sick man said:  "We have been friends for years; sure I'll do this for you."  And then he died.

Two days later, his surviving friend was sleeping when he heard his friend's voice:  "I've got some bad news and some good news.  The good news is that there is baseball in Heaven."

"And what is the bad news?"

"You are pitching on Wednesday."

Laugh all you want, but you have to admit baseball is the most popular game in America.  And when you have a player in the family it’s important to keep him happy.  Kids or adults, they all like to foul around in their spare time.  That’s why I’ll give you a great recipe to refresh a baseball player.

Ingredients

8 cups of water

1 3/4 cups of white sugar

1 1/2 cups of lemon juice

Instructions

Combine the sugar and one cup of water in a cooking pan.  Boil it and stir to dissolve the sugar.  After it cools to room temperature put it to fridge to get chilled.

Remove the seeds from the lemon juice, but leave the lemons’ pulp.  Stir together the lemon juice, chilled syrup, and the remaining water in a pitcher.

Lemonade is not just for cooling and relaxing after a game.  It may also protect lungs against asthma.  So drink your lemonade to freshen up and enjoy a beautiful summer day.
