Tom Cruise's Famous Recipe
By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer
September 16, 2009

On The Jay Leno Show Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz had to answer several questions that may have put them in an uncomfortable position. Jay Leno sure knows how to make a show.

From make-up to private stuff, both celebrities answered all Leno’s questions. Tom Cruise is used to make a good show everywhere he is invited. On the Oprah Winfrey show Tom cooked his special Spaghetti Carbonara recipe and everybody praised it.

I’m presenting you his recipe, but adapted so it can be a low-fat Spaghetti Carbonara, 6 serving; it takes 15 minutes to prepare it and 15 minutes to cook it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 inch of extra virgin olive oil in a sauté pan
  • 3 garlic gloves, minced
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 6 oz of turkey bacon, finely chopped (try something Italian)
  • 1 cup of egg substitute
  • 1 lb of spaghetti uncooked
  • 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese, grated
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Salt

Instructions

Add the garlic, onion, and bacon over the olive oil. Let them simmer for 30 minutes, but watch out so it won’t boil. During last 10 minutes of simmering put the crushed red pepper flakes.

Take a bowl and beat the eggs along with salt and ground pepper. Cook spaghetti until it is fully cooked, but not overly soft. Drain it and add immediately the egg mixture; then stir until eggs are cooked. Mix into sauté pan and in the end add the grated cheese, tossing quickly.

Here is the approximate nutritional information per serving: 422 calories, 9g of fat, 58g of carbohydrates, and 21g of protein.
