Will Smith's Legendary Training

Everyone who saw Will Smith’s movie ”I Am Legend” must have been impressed by his performance. But his brand new look was also very impressive - especially his abs. It really seemed that the ”last man on earth” was ready to take on anyone who stood against him.
How did he accomplish this? According to him, it was not as hard as it seems. Although his training was intensive, Will admits he has been through even worse routines. For ”I Am Legend” he had to lose weight instead of gaining. Twenty pounds to be precise. Seems hard enough.
In an interview, Will said that he is capable of losing weight fifty times easier than gaining. Probably many of you wonder how is that even possible. It requires a very high and active metabolism, gained from training. But of course, losing weight fast isn’t just about favorable metabolism. For this movie, Will’s routine consisted of running five miles daily combined with a strength training program.
Smith’s trainer admits that dropping and putting weight back on very fast isn’t healthy for your body. That’s why such an intensive program should last for a short period. Besides running and training, diet was essential too. By including asparagus, a vegetable that extracts water from the body, in his diet, and drinking a special tea that acts like a diuretic, Will managed to rapidly lose weight and become lighter than ever. He also reduced his heavy lifting and focused on lighter weights. This way he maintained his muscular mass while he was dropping weight fast.
So, as his body fat went down, the muscles took shape, and even though Will is now lighter than ever, he actually appears to be bigger than ever. He is used to constantly change his physical appearance, and so, every new movie brings a fresh new character for the stunned audience.
