The Rebellious Tom Cruise

By Neil Stadford, Project Weight Loss Editor Diet
June 05, 2008

Studio bosses tried to help superstar Tom Cruise to prepare for his role in Mission Impossible 3 by handing him a dietary schedule especially designed to get him in perfect shape.  But, surprisingly, Tom refused to cooperate with any of these plans.

Afterwards, Tom claimed he has his own way of training. First of all, he said he doesn’t intend to lose weight. His personal training routine would take care of everything. After his training for The Last Samurai, he knew what was best for him. He gained a lot of muscular mass with this unique and intense training.

Not only did he trained extremely hard to learn the Japanese sword fighting style, which took about an year and a half, but he also worked out in the gym every single day for about an hour and a half. The sword fighting lessons made him faster, stronger and more aware of his surroundings. His hours spent in the gym completed his training by shaping his body, adding muscle on muscle.

In the end, it was all worth it. Everything worked as planned. His performance in the movie was indeed stunning. But his true benefit from all this remains the incredible effect that this program had on him and on his body. Not only that he never regained weight, but he never felt more healthier. And all those things stuck with him since then. Nowadays, Tom refuses any diet plan and any other help. He is confident he can take care of things his own way without any intervention.

Tom Cruise never really used a special diet or an special training program, not even now when Mission Impossible 3 came knocking on the door. His physical condition was already more than enough for the leading role in the third movie of the series.
