The 5-Factor Diet Plan
By Alice Mitchell, Project Weight Loss Editor
November 17, 2008

Time is always an issue when it comes to choosing a diet.  The biggest problem dieters invoke is the lack of time to prepare special meals and work out.  Harley originally designed this diet for celebrities so they could train and eat healthy during short breaks on the movie sets.  Harley’s goal through this diet is to transform bodies and reinvent the meaning of “necessity”.

The 5 Factor Diet is very well organized. It includes: a 5-week plan, 5 meals a day, 5-ingredient meals, a 25-minute workout, and 5 cheat days in 5 weeks. The goal is to lose considerable weight and reach your ideal weight in five weeks.  The simple part is focusing on eating five meals a day in order to keep your mind of snacks or starving yourself.

Furthermore, the lack of time was also an important issue, so Harley’s meals are easy to prepare and only take a few minutes.  There are more than five celebrities Harley helped to lose weight. For example: Jessica Simpson, Alicia Keys, Eva Mendes, John Mayer, Mandy Moore, Kanye West.  Harley may be just another Hollywood trainer, but we all know how these celebrities look like.

Harley explains that every meal should include protein (such as chicken, low-fat diary and fish), fiber (such as whole grains), healthy fats (such as monounsaturated olive oil), complex carbohydrates (such as fruits and vegetables), and fluids (such as water and non-sugary drinks).  Furthermore, the workout routine consists of five exercises, five minutes long each.  The downside about this diet, observed by the critics, is that it is possible that people may have trouble in gaining access to the meals recommended in Harley’s plan.

Also, some snacks are particularly expensive, so most people couldn’t afford it.  For example, turkey breast slices wrapped around lettuce and green pepper strips, along with nonfat cream cheese or brown-rice cake with a slice of veggie salami, nonfat cheese and mustard.  If not so expensive, then at least take time preparing it.  Critics consider this a diet especially designed for celebrities.
