May Day Recipe

Today is May Day and I thought a specific recipe. Have you tried Tippaleivät? It is a traditional Finnish dessert served at celebrations. The Tippaleivät is a version of the American funnel cakes. Try using a medal collar to aid in the ball shape.  Below is the recipe for 6 – 12 serves. Ingredients ·        2 eggs ·        1 teaspoon salt ·        2 teaspoons sugar ·        3/4 cup milk ·        1/2 teaspoon vanilla ·        Oil ·        1 1/2 cups flour  Instructions Mix the sugar and eggs, but don't beat. Then add the other ingredients and mix them until they become a smooth batter.  Put the batter into a pastry bag or a paper cone fitted with a small-holed nozzle.  The batter should be squeezed into the hot oil, in a thin band.  Use a spiral motion to make nest-like cookies.  Try using a metal ring in the pot. This way you’ll keep the cookies in shape.  When the cookies have that golden brown color, remove and drain them on a towel (paper towels would be the best).  At last, when the cookies will be cold, powder some sugar.  Good appetite! ©2009 Project Weight Loss.
