Stay in Shape like Shia LaBeouf from "Disturbia" Does

By Alex Baran, Project Weight Loss Staff Writer

Shia LaBeouf is well known for his roles in “Disturbia” and “Transformers.” No matter if he should lose weight or beef up, the actor takes the challenge.

When it comes to dieting, Shia LaBeouf chooses a good carbohydrate and high protein diet, according to How Celebrities Lose Weight. Sometimes nutritionists recommend good-carb diets, rather than low-fat diets. A good carbohydrate diet is the “Glycemic Impact Diet”.

There are a few principles to respect when you start this diet. You must remember that 40% of your calorie intake should come from complex, unrefined carbohydrates such as whole grains (bread and cereal) and fruits instead of juice. The next 30% comes from lean protein such as chicken, fish or, if you are a vegetarian, soy, tofu, and vegetables. Beef and pork meat are not prohibited, but should only be included in the diet occasionally.

The last 30% of the daily calorie intake should come from healthy fats, such as avocado, olive oil, or nuts. To make it even clearer, here is an example of a meal plan. For breakfast, you can either have a vegetable omelet with wheat bread and strawberries or, if you are a cereal type of person, oat bran cereal with blackberries and milk. For lunch, you can choose between a sandwich with grilled cheese and tomatoes along with a salad and some milk, and a more traditional lunch, spicy chicken strips with fresh salad and yogurt.

This diet plan also contains snacks. For example, as an afternoon snack you can eat some roast beef roll-ups with flatbread or a small crunchy crabmeat salad with strawberries.

Of course, dieting is not the only thing that keeps Shia LaBeouf in shape. He works out daily, 3 hours a day. Runs for an hour, then he does weightlifting.

There were rumors he also lost weight with cigarettes and black coffee, because they made him lose his appetite. That's not a healthy way of losing weight and produces more damage than help, so I recommend you to talk to a nutritionist before starting a diet.
