Avril Lavigne Goes Through Hard Times

Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley are going through their divorce process; since a divorce is never easy, now more than ever she needs to pay attention to her health and feelings. How does she take care of herself?
When she realized she was eating bad foods Avril Lavigne changed her nutrition habits. “Lots of sugar and carbs, junk food all the time. It makes you very irritated. I spent some time with a nutritionist and learned I had low blood sugar. Now I eat accordingly,” said the rock singer, according to ShapeFit. Most of the time, she has a vegan diet and she likes to cook soups and vegetarian dishes. However, she also needs to “gotta life” so she eats fast food once in a while. Vegetarianism is not anymore strange and faddish. Many studies have proven vegetarian diets are nutritionally adequate, providing healthful benefits in the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases. Predominantly plant-based diets lower the risk of cancer because they are rich in a variety of legumes, vegetables and fruits. Also, regular vegetable and fruit can reduce the risk of ischemic heart disease. Avril likes Italian dishes too: “I love the food - that would be one of the times when I let loose,” she said. Typical Italian ingredients are tomatoes, oregano, garlic, olives and olive oil, artichokes, and basil - all healthy foods.
