Planning a party is never easy, especially for the New Year’s Eve. What are you going to cook? Are you still on a diet? If so, here’s a low fat recipe.
Fresh salsa can make a great change from the bottled variety. Ingredients for two cups: - 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice;
- 4 tablespoons of fresh chopped cilantro;
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped;
- 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped;
- 4 tomatoes, seeded and chopped.
Instructions Combine cilantro, garlic, onion, jalapeno, and tomatoes in a bowl and put them to fridge for about an hour, so the flavors would mingle. Cooking your own salsa recipe instead of buying it has several benefits, according to Gomestic: Fresh tomatoes are more tasteful and can’t be compared with the canned ones. One of salsa’ specific ingredient is jalapeno; what happens if you don’t like it? The advantage of home cooking salsa is that you can replace it with whatever you want, or don’t replace it at all. There’s the same story with limes, if you’re out of limes or you want to replace them with something else. Let’s see an advantage from another point of view – supposing you have you suffer from high blood pressure and usually you can’t eat salsa – all you have to do is use extra lime juice and other seasonings so you won’t miss the saltiness. Fresh salsa is best served with baked tortilla chips. This recipe is also cholesterol-free. ©2009 Project Weight Loss. All rights reserved.
