When It Comes to Winning an Oscar there Are Sacrifices to Be Made

I bet you already know that Jeff Bridges has won best actor award for “Crazy Heart.” Recently he shared his acting secret. Bad Blake, Jeff Bridges’ character in “Crazy Heart,” was a hard-living country legend, a role that required some sacrifices. The actor had to eat some junk food and practice his singing skills, according to People, but he’s used to it. “You think of the physicality of the character and what kind of food you need to help create the physical shape you're looking for,” said Bridges. The 60 years old actor knows how important it is to watch his nutrition: “Normally I watch what I eat. I feel better when I'm in shape and not too overweight,” he added. However, is this practice healthy? Previous studies have shown that large fluctuations in weight and weight loss might increase risks of death because of cardiovascular disease, especially if there are already signs of these health problems. Non-smokers, thus healthy people, are not related to the risk of death in case of large weight fluctuations. It’s best to have a healthy lifestyle and avoid large weight fluctuations on long-term. Jeff Bridges didn’t say how much weight he gained for his role, but since he doesn’t like to be “too overweight,” we can assume he didn’t risk his well-being.
