Ok so they say nutrition is 80% of weight loss, and you know what as much as I didn’t want to agree it is so TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having the lap band has helped me reach milestones in weight loss hat I would have never imagined now for the long stretch its really about me and my self control or lack their of!!!!! I have to really check myself and know that now will tell what I have really learned and what I’m really going to implement. So since having the lap band automatically put control on my intake now that my lap band is near at its max and I can’t have any more adjustments or I would be sick I have to manage at this level! And I really should have met my goal weight already and I didn’t even realize I had slacked off. So there it is all on the table no more room for excuses just time to work. My personal theme for me this year has been “in 09 I’m taking care of me, myself and I!” thus this is one of the areas I have to put forth a special effort and looking back I know realize last summer I had the opportunity for a promotion and I worked really hard and attained it. I said I wanted to be on the deans list every semester and I have –every semester but I never really set a PLAN for continued weight loss, I was so used to the band and how I was losing continual I never focused on OK what happens when the band has done all it can do and its tie for maintenance! That’s where I messed up, but thank goodness for second, third, fourth, 34th chances LOL! So then I say what will make this time different. A few factors: 1) I am really proud of the weight I have lost thus far, I never take the time to focus on that and a good friend said wait Shirelle just have a moment and celebrate that! So today I am celebrating 117lbs gone YEAH! 2) Now I am going to focus on maintaining the lifestyle that brought about that weight loss and making myself accountable to my OWN BODY, my own well being 3) Set some new goals- more than just saying ok I want to lose weight, think about trying things I would have never tried before the weight loss and venture to try them for example- Rock climbing it looks challenging and refreshing and I really want to try it, so hopefully by Sept 09 I can say I tried it! 4) Wear a Tankini without a sarong- Yeah sounds corny but I have never worn a bathing suit without a cover up! 5) Encourage someone else in this daily battle of self-love, because I realize it’s not a food problem, its not taking the time to love myself enough to take care of myself!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally I must admit sometimes the fear of impossibility and can cripple me in this area of my life, the fear that I will try and no results, I realize putting that in the air, saying that only makes it true. So I must change my actions, words and deeds they must match up in order for me to reach the goals! It’s a new day another chance to try again!
